Solar Electrical Prep
I handle the electrical prep work for solar installations - switchboard upgrades, meter box mods, and circuit work. Panel installation goes through CEC-accredited partners.
What I Do (EC 9715)
- Switchboard assessment and upgrade for solar readiness
- Meter box modifications where needed
- Running circuits for inverter connection
- Adding capacity to boards that are already full
- Earthing and bonding checks
- Post-installation inspection and testing
CEC Partners Handle
- Solar panel supply and installation
- Inverter selection and mounting
- CEC design and documentation
- Western Power connection application
- System commissioning
Solar PV installation requires CEC accreditation. I work with accredited installers and can coordinate the electrical prep with your solar project.
Common Situations
A lot of homes in Rockingham need switchboard work before solar can be installed. Older boards in Waikiki and Warnbro often don't have space for the additional circuits, and some are still on fuses which need upgrading first.
Even newer homes in Baldivis sometimes need attention - if you've already got air con, a pool pump, and other loads, the board might be at capacity.
If you're getting quotes for solar, I can check your switchboard and let you know if any prep work is needed before the solar crew arrives. Better to know upfront than have surprises on installation day.
